Any combination of education and experience that would likely result in the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Novato Fire District Fire Chief. Typical ways to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities are: Candidates for Fire Chief should begin to prepare forleadership, management, and adThis might be accomplished by a combination of higher education and Chief Officer management experience, which could be developed by serving Two (2) or more years as a Novato Fire District Battalion Chief OR acquiring an Associate%u2019s Degree or higher from a college or university, and having served for at least five (5) years in progressively responsible leadership roles, such as Captain, Battalion Chief, or Division Chief in an organized Fire Department.License, Certifications, Registrations:%u2022 Possession of valid CPR/AED certification.%u2022 Possession of or ability to obtain an advanced leadership certification, such as State Fire Chief Officer, State Fire Executive Officer, or State Fire Marshal Investigation.
