National Strategy for Sports

The UAE has placed a strong emphasis on university-level sports as a
significant part of its National Sports Strategy 2031. By fostering a
vibrant university sports culture, these initiatives aim to inspire future
generations, enhance social cohesion, and strengthen the competitiveness
of Emirati athletes. The goal is to establish a robust foundation for the
future of national sports and increase participation across all levels of
society.

The University of Sharjah’s team, which recently won the latest edition of
the University Games organized by UAESUSF, is seen as a strong
contender to represent the UAE on the international stage. Sheikh Suhail
bin Butti expressed great confidence in the team’s potential and
capabilities.
