Free Trade Agreement Nears Final Stage

Dr. Al Zeyoudi confirmed that talks on a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union
(EAEU) have been completed. The agreement, focused on trade in goods, is expected to be

signed soon in Minsk. A second agreement covering services and investments is also complete
and undergoing legal review.

“These agreements will help accelerate trade flows and unlock new opportunities,” Al Zeyoudi

said. He called for more institutional cooperation and the creation of business councils and
delegations to build on this momentum. Plans are underway for the next UAE-Belarus Joint
Economic Committee meeting, which will be held later this year.

Smart Economic City Project Launched

The new Minsk International Exhibition Centre—backed by UAE investment—marks the start of
the Northern Waterfront project. This development aims to create a smart economic city in

Belarus, with a focus on tourism, technology, and modern infrastructure.

“This is a major step in the UAE’s global investment strategy,” Al Zeyoudi noted. “It reflects our
commitment to long-term development and innovative partnerships.” The project highlights the

UAE’s ability to scale its presence in international markets, using technology-driven platforms to
stimulate economic growth abroad.

The minister also stressed that Belarus’s advanced workforce and production capabilities offer

real potential for Emirati firms. These strengths make the country a key partner in sectors driving
the new economy.
