5/9/24, 1:42 PM Emaar, the economic city signs agreement with Aramex to promote logistics sustainability in KAEC – You Change
The agreement was signed by Sami Al-Najrani, Chief Operating Officer and Advisor to
the Chairman of KAEC; and Mahmoud Asha, Managing Director for the Western
Region, Aramex, on behalf of Mr. Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Nuwaiser, the Managing
Director, at a ceremony attended by numerous renowned personalities. Rayan Albakri,
Deputy Minister of Logistics Services at the Ministry of Transport and Logistics
Services; Mazen AlSaleh, Deputy Secretary General – Economic Cites at the Economic
Cities and Special Zones Authority (ECZA); and Mansour Al Salem, the Managing
Director of Emaar, the Economic City, attended the ceremony.

Adopting a phased approach, both parties will implement various innovative logistics
solutions in multiple phases, with Phase 1 including the deployment of Aramex Bot
deliveries in selected areas such as Baylasan and Marina Areas, which will enable the
introduction of various technologies . This will help enable maximum convenience,
improve operational speed and efficiency, reduce costs and drive sustainability.

The agreement further includes numerous provisions, all aimed at paving the way for
green logistics within KAEC, emphasizing its commitment to promoting innovation and
sustainability. It offers numerous benefits for all stakeholders involved, including
improved environmental sustainability and improved logistics capabilities. The first
multi-compartment robot used for logistics operations, custom designed by Aramex with
the support of partner Ottonomy, enables multiple deliveries per trip, optimizing overall
operations and paving the way for cheaper delivery costs. Additionally, robot deliveries
follow optimal routes, avoiding traffic and maneuvering through busy urban areas with
minimal disruption, significantly improving delivery speed and efficiency.

Furthermore, because Bots are electrically powered and emit no emissions, their
integration would significantly reduce the carbon footprint. The flexibility of scaling up
and down the Bot fleet also allows it to adapt to both peak and off-peak seasons. It also
complies with traffic regulations thanks to the use of advanced sensors and algorithms
to efficiently identify obstacles and avoid collisions.
