DUBAI: Dr Ahmad Bel houl Al Falasi, Min is ter of Edu ca tion and Chair man of the Gen eral
Author ity of Sports (GAS), on Thursday inaug ur ated the main ses sion of the rst edi tion of

the Emir ates Com munity Sports Forum. The three-day event, held from Nov.22 to 24 at the
Author ity’s Dubai headquar ters, is a col lab or at ive e ort with the Emir ates Sports for All Fed -
er a tion under the theme ‘Sports and Qual ity of Life.’

The forum’s primary object ive is to usher in a qual it at ive shit in the realm of com munity

sports, nur tur ing a healthy and innov at ive gen er a tion cap able of excel lence in vari ous vital
sec tors. Fur ther more, the forum emphas izes the endur ing impact of sports in enhan cing sot
power, con trib ut ing to the pos it ive repu ta tion of the UAE, and solid i fy ing its regional and
global lead er ship across diverse domains. The dis tin guished gath er ing wit nessed the pres -

ence of Abdul lah Ali Al Rubaie, Head of the Human A airs and Envir on ment Sec tor in the Sec -
ret ariat Gen eral of the Gulf Cooper a tion Coun cil.
Addi tion ally, the event hos ted vari ous sports g ures, as well as rep res ent at ives from stra tegic
part ners such as the National Olympic Com mit tee, sports coun cils, heads of sports fed er a -

tions, par ti cip at ing del eg a tions from Gulf Cooper a tion Coun cil coun tries, and spe cial ists in
the eld of com munity sports.
Dr Al Falasi, emphas ized the forum’s sig ni c ance as a lead ing pla form address ing strategies
to advance and enrich com munity sports both loc ally and within the Gulf region. “It serves as

a pla form to foster dia logue with Gulf Cooper a tion Coun cil coun ter parts, and facil it ate the
exchange of best prac tices for com munity sports devel op ment. This, in turn, and con trib utes
to the our ish ing sports land scape in the region.”
High light ing the pivotal role of such ini ti at ives, He under scored their con tri bu tion to elev at -

ing the UAE’S sports sec tor to unpre ced en ted levels of excel lence.
“The forum aids in the trans ition of the sports sec tor from an enter tain ment domain to a vital
devel op mental and eco nomic sec tor. This trans ition sup ports the coun try’s sus tain able eco -
nomic and social devel op ment pro cess,” Dr Al Falasi said.

He under scored the sig ni c ance of instilling a sports cul ture across soci ety to estab lish the
pil lars of a healthy, dis tin guished, and pros per ous com munity. He emphas ized the import -
