The General Sports Authority organized an initiative entitled “Practice Sports and

Enjoy Life” in the walkway of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in the Emirate of Fujairah,
with the participation of a large number of athletes and community members, with

the aim of encouraging walking and daily exercise.
This initiative is part of a series of “sports…for life” initiatives that work to enhance the

sports culture in the community and motivate all segments of society to practice

various sports.

Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development

Sector at the authority, pointed out that the new approach that the authority seeks to

establish focuses on initiatives and plans related to community sports in line with the

UAE Vision 2071, which aims to enhance social cohesion and make happiness and

positivity a lifestyle.

He added: “The General Sports Authority believes that the development and
development of community sports practice is in the interest of discovering sports

talents, and strengthening federations and clubs with distinct elements that are

discovered through these initiatives. It also contributes to raising health rates and

achieving the well-being and quality of life index, which the government pays great

attention to as part of its strategic plans.”
