Marjan Faraidooni, Chief of Education and Culture at Expo City Dubai, noted that,

“Sustainability is part of Expo City Dubai’s DNA. We are proud to have received

the GSTC destination recognition, illustrating that tourism can – and must – go

hand in hand with care for our environment and culture.”

Terra, Expo City’s flagship sustainability experience, embodies the principles

behind the GSTC certification. It integrates net-zero design, nature-based

solutions, and educational programs, including the International Union for

Conservation of Nature Centre for Species Survival (CSS) dedicated to fungi and

Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots regional office.

Expo City Dubai’s forward-thinking master plan ensures accessibility, connectivity,

and green and blue spaces throughout the city. The city has achieved WELL

Community pre-certification, the first in MENA, and is pre-certified Platinum
