“Under the directives and blessing of the President of the UAE, we announce today the appointment of Ahmed Al
Sayegh as Minister of Health in the United Arab Emirates,” Sheikh Mohammed said. “We extend our sincere
appreciation to AbdulRahman Al Owais for his dedicated service to the Ministry of Health over the past years,
during which significant developments have been achieved to advance the federal healthcare system… We wish
both of them success in fulfilling their national duties.”
Al Sayegh brings extensive experience in both government and business leadership. Since 2018, he has served
as Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leading the UAE’s economic and commercial affairs portfolio
and strengthening international partnerships, particularly with Asia and CIS countries.
He also holds key positions including board membership at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), the Abu
Dhabi Fund for Development, and the Emirates Nature–WWF, as well as co-chairing the UAE-UK Business
Council. Previously, he served as Chairman of Abu Dhabi Global Market, Aldar Properties, and Masdar, among
other leadership roles. Al Sayegh holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Lewis & Clark College in the
