It’s official: UAE to get a three-day

holiday this week

Here’s what you need to know

The United Arab Emirates is all set for a three-day long weekend this week, it has been confirmed.

The private and public sectors will both get a public holiday on Friday September 5 to
observe Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (PBUH).

When combined with Saturday and Sunday, the official weekend days for the majority of the Dubai
population, this extra day off gives us a three-day long weekend.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced the private sector holiday on Tuesday
August 26, shortly after the Federal Authority For Government Human Resources made the
public sector announcement.
