Storm-affected Dubai residents will be provided with free alternative housing, food and other helpful
services to get them back on their feet.
The storm relief initiatives will be welcomed by those who suffered the most following the worst storm
in the history of the UAE.
Many neighbourhoods and homes across the city have been severely affected by the excessive
amount of rainfall.
And HH Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of
Dubai Executive Council, has approved a raft of measures which will attempt to mitigate the damage
for thousands in the emirate.
The Dubai government will provide free alternative housing to those who have been affected by the
storm.
Infrastructure has taken a battering across the city with several major neighbourhoods devastated by
the impact.
Dubai Metro stations were flooded as were the roads.
And, as roads were flooded, that made it difficult for food to get to some communities so the city will
also distribute food to places that have been hit the hardest. Local businesses have also offered free
meals and water to provide some relief during a difficult time.
