The Dubai Municipality has clarified reports on social media about dead fish spotted in canals and water areas in
Dubai.
According to Dubai Municipality, this was a natural phenomenon following the heavy rain and floods that hit the
emirate.
“Occurrence of dead fish is often caused by changes in weather conditions, such as increased rainfall or rising sea
surface temperatures,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
The municipality said that special teams have been dispatched to remove the dead fish. Residents have reported
seeing dead fish floating in the Dubai Canal and Business Bay area.
