Streamlining Industrial Design Registration H.E. Dr. Al Muaini described the treaty as a milestone
in simplifying the registration processes for industrial designs, enabling innovators and creators
worldwide to protect their IP rights more efficiently. The treaty introduces essential provisions, such as
the prohibition of unauthorized claims on traditional designs and support for technical assistance and

capacity-building initiatives. These measures aim to enhance multilateral cooperation among member
states and ensure the successful implementation of the treaty’s objectives.

"The UAE is fully committed to supporting this treaty and its outcomes," said H.E. Dr. Al Muaini. "We
aim to continue fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange with WIPO member states. The UAE

aspires to join all WIPO treaties and agreements to contribute actively to global IP initiatives."

Driving Legal Framework Enhancements H.E. Dr. Al Muaini also highlighted the UAE’s significant
progress in strengthening its legal framework for IP protection. Initiatives such as the industrial
property rights regulation and its executive policies have established comprehensive mechanisms for
safeguarding industrial designs. Additionally, the UAE’s efforts align with international best practices,

enhancing the efficiency of legal procedures and ensuring high-quality services for IP protection.

The UAE has recently introduced 31 integrated projects aimed at fostering innovation and creativity,
including the "Patent Incubator" program, which streamlines patent documentation across the seven
emirates. These initiatives encourage innovators to secure IP rights, ensuring the preservation and

        value of their creations.

Remarkable Growth in IP Registrations The UAE’s IP sector has seen robust growth, with 356,408
trademarks registered by the end of September 2024. More than 15,000 patents, utility certificates,
and industrial designs have also been documented, reflecting the country’s commitment to advancing
        its IP ecosystem.

By participating in the conference, the UAE reaffirms its role as a key player in shaping global IP
frameworks, demonstrating its dedication to innovation and sustainable economic development.
