UAE Reports Surge in Intellectual
Property Registrations in 2024

The UAE has witnessed significant growth in intellectual property (IP) registrations during
the first nine months of 2024, according to the Ministry of Economy. This rise reflects the
country’s continued commitment to fostering an innovation-driven economy.
IP registrations have surged by 34.3%, with trademark registrations up by 39.12%.
Patents, utility certificates, and industrial designs also saw a notable increase of 8%. The
total number of IP works registered reached 1,884, compared to 1,402 during the same
period in 2023, bringing the overall number of registered IPs to 20,389.
