Bridgestone Creates Custom Tires for Volkswagen Golf GTI

Nürburgring lap record for Volkswagen production vehicles.

Bridgestone has developed custom Potenza Race semi-slick tires

specifically for Volkswagen's Golf GTI EDITION 50, the
manufacturer's 50th anniversary model that recently established
the fastest Nürburgring lap time for any Volkswagen production

vehicle.

The tire manufacturer announced the partnership on June 30,
2025, following the Golf GTI EDITION 50's record-setting

performance at Germany's Nürburgring circuit. The vehicle
completed a lap of the 20.82-kilometer Nordschleife track in 7
minutes and 46.13 seconds earlier this year while equipped

exclusively with the custom Bridgestone tires.

Volkswagen unveiled the Golf GTI EDITION 50 at the 24-hour race
held at the Nürburgring, marking five decades since the Golf GTI

line was first introduced. The anniversary model represents the
most powerful production GTI to date.

The custom tires feature a high-grip compound designed for dry

performance conditions, along with a tread pattern engineered to
