Statement by H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumathi,
                             Director General of the Family Development Foundation

                                          On ‘International Women's Day’


            Al-Rumaithi:

            Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Initiatives Enhance Women's Place in the

            World


            On the occasion of International Women's Day, H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumathi, Director

            General  of  the  Family  Development  Foundation,  said:  “The  United  Arab  Emirates  remains

            committed to strengthen its regional leadership in the gender balance, fostered by the wise leadership
            that recognizes the potential of Emirati women and facilitates their success as integral contributors to

            society and the essence of the country’s progress and civilization. This vision is manifested through
            evolving legislation and policies shaping the UAE’s future towards global leadership in this crucial
            realm.”




            Her Excellency affirmed that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (The Mother of the
            Nation), Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council

            for  Motherhood  and  Childhood,  and  Supreme  Chairwoman  of  the  Family  Development

            Foundation (FDF), serves as a beacon of inspiration and support for Emirati women, elevating their

            achievements  and  empowering  them  to  further  their  contributions  to  the  nation  and  societal

            development. This has resulted in Emirati women assuming prominent roles in the developmental
            landscape, actively engaging across governmental and private sectors.



            Al Rumathi highlighted the ongoing commitment of the Family Development Foundation to empower

            women,  in  line  with  the  directives  of  Her  Highness  Sheikha  Fatima  bint  Mubarak.  This  includes

            enhancing  their  capabilities,  sharpening  their  skills  across  various  facets  of  life,  and  meeting
            competitive demands through tailored training workshops and supportive programs. The aim is to boost

            their capacities, nurture awareness, and knowledge, and foster balanced family empowerment.
