The UAE’s aviation sector has achieved a major milestone, with more than one billion
passengers recorded through the country’s airports between 2015 and 2024, according to new
data from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre.
The report highlighted that total aircraft movements exceeded 6.4 million during the same
period, underscoring the industry’s rapid growth. Passenger traffic rose from 114.8 million in
2015 to 147.8 million in 2024, reflecting the UAE’s expanding role as a global travel hub.
