In 2023, non-oil bilateral trade between the UAE and the Solomon Islands increased by 71 percent
compared to 2022, reaching US$3 million. The exports from the Solomon Islands to the UAE more
than quadrupled during this period, boosting local industries such as fishing and forestry.
Dr. Al Zeyoudi also mentioned the UAE-Pacific Partnership Fund's role in developing a solar power
plant in the Solomon Islands. This project is built and operated by Masdar, also known as Abu
Dhabi Future Energy Company, showcasing collaborative efforts in renewable energy development.
Prime Minister Manele expressed that this inauguration would further solidify bilateral ties and
praised ongoing cooperation across various sectors. He reaffirmed his country's dedication to
deepening collaboration for mutual benefit.
The opening of the new embassy not only strengthens diplomatic connections but also paves the
way for enhanced economic partnerships. Both nations are committed to fostering growth through
shared initiatives and projects that benefit their respective economies.
