This year, some destinations have seen explosive growth in interest. Nepal, for
example, has experienced a staggering 214.76% increase in searches, while Pakistan
has seen a rise of 82.65%.

These destinations are gaining traction as more travellers look for unique getaways
during the holy month.

Rising airfares: A bigger travel bill

As demand for travel increases, so do the prices. Wego reports that flight costs to

nine out of ten of the most searched Ramadan destinations have gone up compared
to last year.

Egypt and Lebanon have seen some of the steepest price hikes, with fares rising by
42.29% and 40.94%, respectively. However, Jordan is the exception, offering a slight
price decrease of 1.17%.

Experts caution that prices may rise even further as Eid al-Fitr approaches, advising
travelers to book their flights sooner rather than later to lock in lower fares.

Early bookings remain the trend

UAE travellers continue to be strategic about their travel plans. Most Ramadan 2024
flights were booked over a month in advance, and this trend appears to be holding
steady in 2025. A couple of weeks into Ramadan, many have already planning ahead
to avoid last-minute price increases and ensure a smooth trip.

For those opting to stay close to home, Dubai’s staycation market is seeing a surge in
popularity. Wego’s data shows that hotel rates have dropped by an impressive 54.04%
compared to last year, making luxury local getaways more accessible than ever.

In response, searches for staycations have increased by 3%, with 4-star hotels
emerging as the top choice for those looking for quality and value. These hotels now
account for 40.15% of all bookings.
