Dubai Municipality has been busy conducting food safety inspections in the city, with over 18,000
inspections taking place in the rst half of 2024. These inspections cover various sectors such as

restaurants, hotels, cafes, commercial centers, hypermarkets, and supermarkets. The main goal of these
inspections is to ensure that all establishments are following the necessary standards in terms of
consumer products, food safety, health, safety, general health, and environmental standards.

The inspection campaigns also extend to other areas such as shisha cafes, hair salons, beauty centers,
worker’s houses, and societal markets across Dubai. This comprehensive approach shows Dubai

Municipality’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents and visitors. With a
focus on food, environment, and safety sectors, the municipality aims to maintain the highest standards

of safety and quality of life in the Emirate.

Dr. Naseem Mohammad Rafee, Acting CEO of Environment, Health & Safety Agency at Dubai

In addition to food safety inspections, Dubai Municipality has also conducted a total of 52,233
inspections in the elds of environment, health, and food during the rst half of 2024. These inspections

cover a wide range of areas including hotel facilities, shisha cafes, hair salons, worker’s houses, maritime
environments, nature reserves, industrial facilities, abattoirs, veterinary organizations, and pest control
companies. This extensive oversight ensures that all aspects of public health and safety are being

monitored and maintained to the highest standards.

By carrying out a signi cant number of inspection visits, Dubai Municipality is demonstrating its
commitment to upholding the safety and well-being of the community. The municipality’s health and
safety teams have conducted over 26,000 inspection visits through various campaigns aimed at

di erent facilities and organizations. These e orts showcase Dubai Municipality’s proactive approach to
maintaining a safe and sustainable environment for all residents and visitors in the city.
