Going on holiday? How you choose to leave
your car could cost you Dhs500 (or more)
Calling all car owners
By Emilie HillJuly 15, 2024
Did you know you can be fined a minimum of Dhs500 if you leave your car in a public
park space in Dubai, unwashed for a long period of time?
If an inspector finds dirty cars in Dubai too filthy to ignore, a notice will be placed on the
windscreen, and owners are given up to 15 days to do something about it.
If ignored, the car will be taken away by the authorities.
The policy in Dubai, issued by the Dubai Municipality, has been enforced since July
2019.
Last year, officials in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region, ramped up inspections, with some
residents returning to their cars with fines up to Dhs3,000, as reported by Khaleej
Times.
