The fifth season of the UAE’s ‘World’s Coolest Winter’ campaign has launched
under the theme ‘Green Tourism,’ focusing on sustainable agricultural initiatives
led by Emiratis. Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, the
National Agricultural Center, and local tourism authorities, the campaign aims to
spotlight successful eco-friendly farming projects and promote sustainable tourism
across the country.
This initiative aligns with the UAE’s domestic tourism strategy, initiated by His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime
Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The strategy seeks to develop an integrated tourism ecosystem that fosters local
engagement and highlights the nation’s innovative approach to sustainable
development.
By encouraging visitors to explore these green projects, the campaign underscores
the UAE’s commitment to blending environmental stewardship with tourism growth.
Fragrant flowers
Mohamed Al Hosani’s organic farm is a vibrant hub of biodiversity, cultivating a
stunning array of flowers, including lavender, daisies, poppies, and desert clovers.
Situated on fertile soil, the farm also produces potatoes, wheat, saffron, sunflowers,
and various vegetables.
Dedicated to preserving the UAE’s natural heritage, Al Hosani propagates and
distributes native plants such as Ghaf, Sidr, Samar, Najdi acacia, and toothbrush
trees.
The farm is thoughtfully divided into specialized sections, including areas for wheat,
palm trees, cosmos flowers, daisies, wild desert plants, alfalfa and fodder crops,
snapdragons, roses, vegetables, potatoes, and strawberries, among others.
Al Hosani’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and biodiversity has made his
farm a shining example of ecological preservation and innovation in the UAE.
