'Invest in future of food': UAE minister explains how

economic cluster addresses challenges

The UAE has adopted food as the first economic cluster to be developed so that the country can
ensure self-sufficiency and drive innovation, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy,
revealed.

He said this during a keynote speech at the first Food500 summit held on the sidelines of Gulfood.
He called on all exhibition attendees to engage with the cluster to drive collaboration and
innovation.

“We have launched the UAE Food Cluster, a strategic initiative that has played a vital role in
addressing industry challenges and unlocking investment opportunities,” he said. “We would like to
strengthen our national food security framework while creating new economic opportunities.”
