SPA members visit Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University

Sharjah24: Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) welcomed a delegation from the
Sharjah Police Academy (SPA) at its Dubai campus to learn about the university’s groundbreaking
initiative, “An AI Agent for Every Faculty Member.” The programme—the first of its kind in the
region—aims to harness artificial intelligence technologies to advance smart education, academic
efficiency, and institutional innovation.
Promoting collaboration in AI-driven higher education
The visit was part of ongoing efforts to exchange expertise and share best practices in applying AI
within higher education. Both institutions explored how such innovations can support digital
transformation across academic organizations, aligning with the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy
2031, “We the UAE 2031” national vision, and Dubai’s Digital Strategy, which seeks to build a
globally leading knowledge-based society.
Delegation and university representatives
The visiting delegation was headed by Brigadier Dr Jamal Ahmed Al Shehhi, accompanied by
Colonel Dr Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi, Director of General Services, Major Dr Saif Ahmed Khalaf Al
Zaabi, Head of Education and Graduate Studies, First Lieutenant Ali Hareb Al Mandhari, Head of
Quality Branch, and Corporal Sumayya Imam Al Balushi from the Strategic Planning and
Institutional Excellence Department.
Representing HBMSU were Dr Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of the University; Professor Ahmed
Ankit, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Meitha Al Teneiji, Vice Chancellor for AI and
Technology; and Ali Al Lanjawi, Director of Business Development.
Showcasing the “AI Agent for Every Faculty Member” initiative
Meitha Al Teneiji delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the initiative’s objectives and
mechanisms. She highlighted how AI tools are empowering faculty members to enhance the
learning experience, improve academic performance, and foster a culture of institutional
innovation. The presentation also discussed implementation frameworks, practical use cases, and
future expansion plans both within and beyond the university.
Advancing AI as a human enabler
Dr Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, said: “The initiative ‘An AI Agent for Every Faculty
Member’ embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the University, to transform artificial intelligence
