Embarking on a Journey Towards Sustainable Urban Mobility: Emaar and hopOn's
Groundbreaking Partnership
Emaar's Ambitious Project: A Beacon of Sustainable Urban Development
Emaar, The Economic City, the visionary developer behind the colossal King Abdullah
Economic City (KAEC), is set to redefine urban mobility in collaboration with hopOn, a
pioneer in smart city transportation solutions. The $86 billion project, sprawling over 173
km2 along the Red Sea coastline, approximately 100 km north of Jeddah, is a
testament to Saudi Arabia's commitment to sustainable development.
Emaar The Economic City, in partnership with the Saudi Arabian General Investment
Authority (SAGIA), is orchestrating this ambitious project to revolutionize the economic
landscape of the region. The collaboration with hopOn is a strategic move to enhance
sustainable mobility solutions, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
A Symphony of Urban Mobility: Buses, E-Shuttles, Scooters, and Bikes
The partnership aims to create a seamless transportation network within KAEC, offering
a variety of transportation options to cater to the needs of its diverse population. The
system will include bus routes from the Haramain High-Speed Railway station to various
city destinations, customized solutions, and alternative modes of transport such as
scooters and bicycles.
The integration of smart on-street and off-street parking solutions will allow users to
book rides and reserve parking spaces through a convenient mobile app. This initiative
promises to reduce traffic congestion, lower carbon emissions, and enhance the overall
quality of life for KAEC residents.
