This agreement supports efforts to safeguard traditional sports by documenting authentic practices and developing

mechanisms for their protection. It empowers communities to engage actively in preserving these traditions. Strategic

programs include digital documentation of marine sports and educational initiatives for youth. An international festival for
traditional marine sports is also planned to highlight the sea's historical role in shaping Emirati identity.

Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi emphasised the importance of maritime heritage in national identity. He stated,
"Maritime heritage is a cornerstone of the UAE’s national identity and an integral part of our collective memory." The

agreement aims to use this heritage as a bridge for global cultural dialogue, connecting people through shared values.

The partnership promotes international collaboration with organisations like UNESCO and leading maritime heritage

centres in Asia and Europe. This cooperation aims to position traditional marine sports as ambassadors of Emirati values
