               Story highlights
This trial period involves a shorter workday of seven hours and Fridays off.

Dubai government employees in 15 organisations will enjoy a four-day work week from
               August 12 to September 30.

This trial period involves a shorter workday of seven hours and Fridays off.

This idea is a part of a pilot scheme launched by the Dubai Government Human
Resources Department, called ‘Our Summer is Flexible’, aiming to improve performance
and quality of life for employees.

The employees were asked to fill out a survey on summer working hours, and proposals
to cut office time in August and September received great support, state news agency
               Wam reported.

Based on employee feedback and observations, Human Resources will recommend
whether the four-day work week pilot should be adopted as a permanent summer
               arrangement.
