While speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of the event, Scndia highlighted that India Post, the

world’s largest postal network, is evolving into a logistics leader with six distinct business verticals and
citizen-focused services such as Passport Seva Kendras.

He added that Initiatives like Direct Benefit Transfers, upgraded postal software, and CRM tools are

strengthening efficiency and accountability.

Scindia noted that no private courier service can match India Post’s presence in 680,000 villages.

One of the major milestones for India at the Congress was the unveiling of the UPI-UPU Integration
project, developed in partnership with the Department of Posts, NPCI International Payments Limited,

and the Universal Postal Union. The initiative connects India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with
the UPU’s Interconnection Platform to establish a safe and cost-effective system for cross-border

remittances. This is expected to benefit millions of Indian households while supporting broader
economic growth.
