Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development
Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and ‘Mother of the Nation’,
in enhancing the well-being of senior citizens and families. She stated that Her Highness spearheads
services to enhance their stability, in line with the national policy to empower this demographic segment.
Moreover, Her Excellency underscored FDF’s ambitious vision to promote the active participation of senior
citizens in society, upholding the wise directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.
Aligned with the issuance of the law amending the Family Development Foundation’s (FDF) mandate by His
Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Her Excellency stated: “Since its
inception 19 years ago, under the wise guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, FDF has
been steadfast in its commitment to caring for senior citizens and providing social support to all members of
society. The foundation maintains a strong presence across Abu Dhabi, with branches strategically located in
key areas such as Al Dhafra and Al Ain. At FDF, we remain dedicated to realizing the foundation’s ambitious
goals, driven by a passionate mindset and a pragmatic vision for the future.”
Her Excellency praised the exemplary law issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
President of the UAE, aimed at further strengthening the FDF’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of
senior citizens and residents, positioning this as the foundation’s core mission. H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al
Rumaithi emphasized that the law marks the beginning of a new chapter for FDF, characterized by intensified
efforts and the introduction of new initiatives to improve the quality of life and welfare of this demographic,
while fostering greater family and societal stability.
Her Excellency reaffirmed FDF’s unwavering dedication to raising the standard of living for senior citizens,
who form the cornerstone of the nation's development journey and serve as a source of pride, inspiration,
dedication, and national spirit. H.E. Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi highlighted that senior citizens hold a
place of great esteem in the hearts of the UAE’s wise leadership and its people, who deeply respect and
honor their contributions and express profound gratitude for their role in advancing the nation.
