11/13/24, 9:24 AM Dubai traffic: RTA urges flexible working hours and remote working to cut traffic | Time Out Dubai
The Dubai Government has recommended flexible hours and remote work in a bid to cut traffic in the
city.
Two surveys conducted by the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai and the Dubai Government
Human Resources Department found that either flexible hours or remote work would significantly
reduce road traffic at peak hours on Dubai’s busiest roads.
The survey findings are part of the Dubai Executive Council’s recently approved Traffic Flow
Plan which aims to make traffic more efficient and ease mobility throughout the emirate.
The plan also aims to balance business productivity and quality of life by expanding the application of
flexible working hours and remote work policies across the emirate.
Both the public and private sectors have been encouraged to adopt these practices to reduce
congestion.
