Centre at the General Authority of Sports, said: “The ‘Sports

Leadership Empowerment Program’ will empower national cadres,

develop their capabilities, and broaden their knowledge on multiple

aspects of administrative work in the sports sector. This will allow

them to assume leadership roles in various sports institutions at the

local, continental, and international levels, which will eventually

contribute to enhancing the UAE’s presence on the global sports

stage, thereby attracting more prestigious sports events and

tournaments to the country.”

Participants in this program must meet a number of requirements,

such as possessing a higher education certificate and prior work

experience in the sports sector. In addition, the program will give

participants the chance to take advantage of numerous specialised

training courses that will further enhance their abilities.

The first day of the program began with a lecture on sports

leadership, by Dr. Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Member of the Board of

Directors of Al-Nasr Sports Games Company. The session was

followed by a workshop, which was presented by H.E. Major

General Dr. Muhammad Al Murr, Director of the Dubai Police

Human Rights, President of the UAE Athletics Federation, and

Member of the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The activities for the second day included a lecture on sports

organisations, presented by Dr. Ahmed Saeed Ragab, Professor of

Sports Administration at Helwan University, along with a workshop

by H.E. Major General Nasser Al Razooqi, President of the UAE

and Asian Federations, and Vice President of the World Karate

Federation.
