Fourth Global Trade and Supply Chain Summit
begins in Dubai

DUBAI, 8th October, 2024 (WAM) -- The fourth edition of the Global Trade and Supply Chain Summit
commenced today in Dubai, organised by Economist Impact in collaboration with the New
Economy Academy. Held at the JW Marriott Hotel Marina Dubai, the two-day summit brings
together over 500 leaders, policymakers, and global experts to explore the resilience of global trade
operations, the vital link between sustainability and supply chains, the impact of geopolitical
factors, and the challenges of sustainable practices amid rising costs.
Scheduled to conclude tomorrow, the summit features 60 sessions with more than 100 local and
international speakers discussing topics such as enhancing supply chain efficiency, integrating
digital innovation to improve sustainability, and adopting advanced technologies to bolster supply
chain resilience. Additionally, discussions will focus on long-term sustainability in global trade
amidst fast-changing global dynamics.
The summit began with a keynote speech by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for
Foreign Trade, highlighting the UAE’s leadership in supporting a multilateral trading system. Dr. Al
Zeyoudi spoke about the positive impact of the UAE's Comprehensive Economic Partnership
