This initiative represents the UAE’s first centralised platform dedicated to intellectual property (IP) and intangible
assets (IA), designed to empower diverse stakeholders, including innovators, artists, entrepreneurs, researchers,
and startups.
The announcement took place during the “IP2024: Glimpse on the Future of IP” event at the Museum of the Future,
where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the DFF and the Ministry of Economy.
Under this MoU, the Ministry of Economy’s existing features for registering intangible assets will be integrated into
the new hub.
IP hub to stimulate innovation
Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, emphasised the UAE’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant
ecosystem that stimulates innovation and supports the growth of creative enterprises.
He noted that the launch of DIPH aligns with the national “We the UAE 2031” vision, aimed at positioning the UAE
as a global leader in the new economy and a top destination for talent and creativity within the next decade.
“The hub marks a crucial advancement in fortifying intellectual property protections for creative industries in Dubai
and across the UAE,” Al Marri stated.
He highlighted the importance of providing entrepreneurs and researchers with the necessary tools to secure their
innovations, thereby strengthening the nation’s economy, increasingly driven by creativity and innovation.
