Ajman University Hosts Workshop on ‘Professional Development for

Quality Assurance Leaders in Higher Education’ Organized by the
Commission for Academic Accreditation

Ajman, November 7 , 2024: Ajman University hosted a workshop titled ‘Professional
Development for Quality Assurance Leaders in Higher Education,’ organised by the
Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research. The workshop was held at Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences and
Exhibitions from October 28 to 30, 2024, convening a distinguished cohort of experts and
practitioners in higher education quality assurance from institutions across the UAE.

In his opening address, Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, expressed his
gratitude to the CAA for its continued commitment to advancing the quality of higher education
in the UAE and for its support in achieving academic excellence. He highlighted the
University’s role in hosting the workshop, demonstrating its commitment to the UAE's
National Strategy for Higher Education 2030, which focuses on developing a quality-centric
educational ecosystem that enhances the global competitiveness of UAE institutions by
fostering innovative teaching methodologies aligned with the UAE’s future vision.

The workshop, attended by experts from the CAA and over 80 participants from various
universities, featured a series of in-depth sessions focused on essential areas in quality
assurance, including the latest updates to the QFEmirates framework, strategic planning,
sustainability and risk-based assessment.

The program aimed to enhance the skills of quality assurance leaders, equipping them to
implement internationally recognized standards and practices within their institutions. It also
served as a platform for sharing experiences and best practices, strengthening cooperation
among higher education institutions in the UAE, and promoting alignment with accreditation
standards to achieve quality benchmarks swiftly.

The workshop concluded with a closing ceremony led by Dr. Karim Seghir alongside Prof. Dr.
Mohammed Yousef Baniyas, Higher Education Advisor and Director of the CAA. They
honored participants for their dedication and contributions to advancing the quality of higher
education in the UAE.
