Wego also repor ted a 29% incr ease in users searching for tr ips with the “family travel”
tag, indica ting a growing preference for shared experiences. While solo travel still
accounts for the ma jority of trips (58%), it declined by 23% compared to last summer.
The data highlights a subtle but significant shift in how Kuwaitis are approaching travel
in 2025: prioritising cost efficiency, emoti onal connection, and immersive group
experiences.

Kuwaiti residents are planning longer, more affordable international trips this summer,
with rising interest in both European and Asian desti nations, according to new insights
from travel platform Wego.
The trend come s as the 2025 summer travel season aligns with Eid al-Adha, giving
residents an extended window for outbound travel.
Europe remai ns a top draw
Wego’s latest platform data reveals a shift toward value - driven, family-focused travel—
especially to destinations known for budget-friendly opti ons.
European cities continue to attract Kuwaiti travellers, with Munich and London topping
the mo st searched destinations on Wego.
Milan saw the biggest year- on-year growth , with a 66 . 34% surge in interest , followed by
Paris at 40.17% . Tbilisi and Vienna also posted gains, up 19.92 % and 8 . 34% respectively.
Popular Asian destinat ions?
Asian destinations are also seeing a spike in interest . Kuala Lumpur experienced a
28 . 24% incr ease in searches, appealing to families with its mix of modern attractions
and accessible prices.
Jakar ta grew by 22 .66% , par ticu larly among solo travellers, while Bangkok’s interest rose
12 .98% thanks to strong value offerings on accommodati on and food.
Manila, Cochin, Dhaka, and Colombo also featured prominently in Wego search data,
mu ch of it driven by expats planning reunions during the school holidays.
