Family Development Foundation Opens Barakat

Aldar Club for Seniors at Al Showaib

The Family Development Foundation (FDF), guided by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima
bint Mubarak—Mother of the Nation and Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union—
has opened a new social club called Barakat Al Dar at the Al Shiwayb Centre. This club is
meant for senior citizens, residents, and those nearing retirement to help them stay active
and supported.

The main goal of the club is to create a friendly and safe place where older people can
take part in activities that improve their mental, social, cultural, and physical health. It
also offers services to help them use technology better and supports their families and
caregivers by sharing useful knowledge and skills.

Ali Salem Al Kaabi, Chairman of FDF’s Board of Trustees, praised Her Highness Sheikha
Fatima’s strong support for senior citizens. He said she believes seniors are an important
part of society and should be respected and empowered to keep contributing in ways that
honor their dignity and meet their changing needs.
