Hotel establishments in the UAE generated 13.5 billion dirhams in revenue
during the first quarter of 2025, according to the Ministry of Economy.
The "Hospitality Advisory Council" met to discuss initiatives to boost the
hospitality sector's growth. Hotel occupancy reached 81.3% with over 8.4
million guests, a 2% increase from the previous year, totaling 29.3 million hotel
nights.
The meeting also highlighted the appointment of Sheikha Al Nuwais as the first
female UNWTO Secretary-General, and the importance of the "National
Tourism Strategy 2031."
