             he   global  award  is  aimed  at  fostering  innovation  and  sustainability  in  the  aviation  sector.

         TThi s  edition   is  he ld  in   collaboration   with  the  International  Civil  Aviation  Organization
         (ICAO)  following   the   signi ng   of  a  Memorandum  of  Understanding  (MOU)  between  the  two
         ent ities  dur ing   the   Global  Sus taina ble  Aviation  Marketplace  (GSAM)  event  in  February.


         With   a  total  prize  value   of  one   million  US  dollars,  the  award  seeks  to  encourage
         ground breaking   solut ions   and   research  that  contribute  to  the  development  of  Sustainable
         Aviation   Fue l  (SAF)  and   the   overall  advancement  of  aviation  sustainability.


         Abdul la  bin  Touq   Al  Marri,  Mini ster  of  Economy  and  Chairman  of  the  General  Civil  Aviation
         Aut ho rity,  said:  "In   line   with   the   gui dance  of  our  wise  leadership,  the  UAE  is  committed  to

         enha nc ing   its  pione ering   role  in   supporting  innovation  and  achieving  a  more  prosperous  and
         sus taina ble  fut ur e  for  the   global  aviation  sector.  The  Sheikh  Mohammed  Bin  Rashid  Al
         Maktoum   Global  Aviation   Award  is  one  of  the  UAE  prominent  contributions  in  this  context,  as
         it  streng the ns   drive  the   trans formation  toward  more  sustainable  aviation  worldwide." 


         He  cont inue d:  "Thr oug h   thi s  edition  of  the  award,  we  focus  on    encouraging  activities  and
         fie lds  of    scient ific   research   and   inno vation,  and  honoring  individuals  and  institutions  that

         thi s  award  will  be  a  key  driver  in   expanding  the  horizons  of  international  collaboration  in
         aviation,   sup porting   our   joint   efforts  toward  achieving  a  more  sustainable  and  safer  world."


         Saif  Moha mmed  Al  Suwaidi,  director  general  of  the  GCAA,  said:  "The  third  edition  of  the
         She ikh   Moha mmed  bin   Rashi d  Al  Maktoum  Global  Aviation  Award  has  been  developed  to
         refle ct  our   deep  commitment   to  a  better  future  for  the  aviation  industry.  The  categories  of
         thi s  edition   aim  to  stimul ate  he althy  competition  among  academic,  research,  and  scientific

         ins titut ions   related  to  the   aviation   sector,  with  the  goal  of  producing  innovative  and  actionable
         solut ions   tha t  cont ribut e  to  the   sus tainability  of  this  vital  industry.  This  aligns  with  the  UAE's
         vision   to  sup port  and   develop  the   aviation  sector  on  a  global  scale.'


         He  added:  "We  look  forward  to  receiving  pioneering  contributions  that  will  help  shape  a  more
         prosperous   fut ur e  for  the   civil  aviation  industry."
