UAE-Korea SME Committee Conducts Inaugural Meeting In Seoul To
Enhance Entrepreneurial Collaboration

place in Seoul, led by Alia bint Abdullah Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, and Oh Youngju, Korean Minister of SMEs and
Startups. The meeting aimed to enhance collaboration between the two nations in entrepreneurship and innovation. It coincided with the UAE
delegation's participation in the "ComeUp 2024" startup festival on 11th and 12th December.

Al Mazrouei highlighted the robust ties between the UAE and Korea, marked by strategic partnerships across various sectors. She noted that
these relations have been strengthened by high-level visits, including President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's visit to
Korea last May. During this visit, a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement was signed to expand economic cooperation.

The Committee meeting is seen as a significant step towards enhancing the entrepreneurial landscape in both countries. It aims to make markets
more attractive for entrepreneurs by leveraging advanced infrastructure and flexible policies available in the UAE and Korea. This initiative seeks
to support startup owners in achieving greater innovation and creativity.

Al Mazrouei stated, "The topics and themes discussed by the Committee meeting today will play a key role in expanding the partnership between
the two countries in the field of entrepreneurship and enhancing SMEs' ability to benefit from the economic strengths of both countries." She also
mentioned that the Ministry of Economy is dedicated to assisting Korean SMEs interested in expanding into UAE markets.
