Dubai Municipality Launches Agricultural Beautification Project at Key Intersection

Dubai Municipality has kicked off a new project as part of its agricultural beautification
efforts throughout the city. This particular project focuses on the intersection of Al Meydan
and Al Khail Streets, a central hub in the heart of Dubai.

Encompassing a vast area of 302,266 square meters, this initiative showcases the
Municipality’s dedication to increasing green spaces in Dubai and meticulously planning and
executing beautification projects to enhance the city’s appearance.

The project incorporates advanced technologies utilized by the Municipality to implement
sustainable irrigation systems and water drainage. These systems include fully automated
irrigation mechanisms, reducing the need for manual intervention. Moreover, innovative
wind-resistant spraying techniques have been integrated, resulting in a significant water-
saving of approximately 30 per cent.

The Municipality’s sustainable groundwater and rainwater drainage systems have proven
effective, particularly during recent rainfall events. Additionally, a pumping station with a
capacity exceeding 280 cubic meters per hour and a tank with a capacity of 1,000 cubic
