meters have been established. As part of the beautification efforts at the intersection, multi-
color linear lighting systems have also been installed.

Dubai Municipality’s Director General, Dawoud Al Hajri, underscored the importance of
agricultural beautification initiatives and the Municipality’s commitment to expanding green
spaces across Dubai. These endeavors align with the vision of His Highness Sheikh
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and
Ruler of Dubai, to position Dubai as the world’s best city to live in.

Al Hajri emphasized the Municipality’s strategies to promote environmental sustainability by
increasing green spaces in Dubai. The goal is to create a comprehensive environmental
impact that preserves natural elements and resources while enhancing their quality,
ultimately elevating Dubai’s attractiveness and aesthetic appeal for its residents.

Incorporating cutting-edge irrigation technologies that rely on fully recycled water, Al Hajri
stated, “Dubai Municipality prioritizes the development of agricultural beautification projects
to enhance Dubai’s vitality according to integrated world-class standards and foster
               sustainability.”

The design of the Al Meydan and Al Khail intersection drew inspiration from horse hoof
prints, resulting in a unique artwork that blends natural elements with carefully selected
ornamental plants. The Municipality has also enriched the landscape by planting a variety of
evergreen tree species to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal.

Moreover, ‘Chorisia’ trees (Chorisia Speciosa) will be planted for the first time at the
intersection of Al Meydan and Al Khail Roads, marking a significant addition to Dubai’s
greenery. These trees, known for their broad, swollen stem that acts as a water reservoir
and large pink-red flowers, will further enhance the beauty of the area.

Dubai Municipality continues to implement agricultural beautification projects at the highest
global standards, incorporating innovative design elements and state-of-the-art irrigation
techniques using recycled water to promote environmental sustainability. The Municipality’s
successful planting of over 185 thousand trees in 2023 as part of the Green Dubai initiative
underscores its dedication to afforestation and enhancing green spaces in the Emirate,
further demonstrating its commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability.
