 CHAPTER 5: ABOUT YOUR EMPLOYMENT
such as current and prior relevant job performance, demonstrated behaviors, competencies, job skills, related experience, education, attendance record and the extent of initial training required by an applicant to meet basic expectations of the new role.
While management approvals are not mandatory
to apply for an opening, all internal applicants are
strongly encouraged to notify their supervisor to help maintain seamless student services. Associates’ voluntary efforts in pursuit of career development or advancement opportunities are appreciated. Therefore, associates who post for an opening and are not selected may contact Associate Experience to take advantage of related developmental feedback as to their non-selection.
Internally posted positions generally remain available for applicants to respond for at least three business days unless business needs require otherwise.
ASSOCIATE DEVELOPMENT
Post’s investment in its associates includes offering relevant ongoing training (web based, virtual, or hands- on) and developmental opportunities as part of our comprehensive efforts to help associates achieve their full potential. In general, associate training is designed to provide unique learning experiences that are creative, interactive, engaging, and fun.
This training begins with your new hire orientation and continues throughout your career. At Post, your
initial attention and focus during new hire training and onboarding is a critical requirement for getting off to
the right start in your career. Substantial planning and investments are made by the University to well equip you for success and expedite your competency in mastering your new role accountabilities. Therefore, attendance each day of new hire training is mandatory. Vacation absences and use of PTO or Sick time or eligibility to start using Post’s Tuition Reduction benefit is waived during your first 90 days of employment including your new hire training period. Specific role-based training opportunities are also available throughout the year.
In addition, managers are encouraged to collaborate
with team members to prepare meaningful individual development plans to help their associates excel with Post. Other developmental opportunities may include on- the-job learning experiences, special projects, one-on- one coaching, customized learning tools, job shadowing, peer mentoring, structured group training (such as Post’s unique Emerging Leaders Program), external training, and participation in outside professional organizations.
We encourage you to participate in available
training events and take initiative as part of your
own development by soliciting feedback from your supervisor, peers, other colleagues, and periodically self-assessing your growth against your personal career objectives. Your active engagement in your continued personal development is essential to our collective success in fulfilling our purpose to improve the quality of life for all of our students through your excellent behaviors.
