                                              HR DISCUSSION NOTES

            • Campus Administrators have an integral role in being close to the professionals.
            • We are expecting you all to be Owls not ostriches, particularly regarding performance and/or issues of
staff fitting the culture. The CA has the Owl view of everyone – parents, students and staff.
            • HOC and CA need a good working relationship.
            • We are mindful of the needs required for HOCs. We are trying to support them in the processes.

            • We need greater support from CAs moving forward.

            • HOCs generally haven’t been proficient at performance management, tough conversations. Although
this is part of their role.

            • SMARTSHEET REPORTS

o Put any questions through the reporting channels and forums. We meet on Mondays and we
would encourage you to be open, with items that are affecting you. Performance related, com-
                       petence related also ethos related.

                   o We need early intervention.

o Sometimes we will put them back to the CA team but certainly we would like to address them
                       officially.

o Please put FYIs on your CA/HOC reports
o It is part of the Professionals’ code of conduct that we address these. Nothing is too small. We
will note anything or escalate to the Professional HR team.

o If there are items you are not happy for the HOC to see, contact your local HR rep by email or
phone, and put it onto the HR report, generically, for us to discuss on Monday at our HR Meeting.

o It is critical that the reporting comes through to us.

o We must have knowledge of issues coming up. We must have the HR report dynamic.
