mermaid flamingo

Mermaid Flamingo is Tybee Island’s resident mermaid. She was born in Savannah Ga, and grew up
swimming at the beach and exploring the marshes. Flamingo is passionate about performing and
entertaining, bringing magic to children, and a certified caregiver. Before becoming a mermaid Flamingo
was a special education teacher. After discovering that none of her students knew how to swim, she created
a special education swim team. Not only did she teach them how to swim but she also put on performances
swimming between them doing tricks and flips. Some of the kids started calling her “Mermaid” and before
long the whole school knew her as such. Then when Christmas came, a group of parents got together and
gifted Flamingo with her very first tail! This was a defining moment in Flamingo’s journey to become a
professional mermaid. Since then, she has performed dozens of birthday parties, charity events, meet and
greets, parades, and much more. To quote one of her favorite mermaids:
“Who says my dreams have to stay dreams?” ~Ariel
