             My mermaid heritage began when
my mum swam with a captive dolphin
every day during the fourth month of
             her pregnancy (while everything was
developing in my body, including my
brain!) In all of my childhood drawings
             everybody was a mermaid. I didn’t
draw legs on people until I was 7 years
old. We moved from Utah to Maui
when I was 6 and went immediately
in search of dolphins, but they hadn’t
been seen in the bay for 2 months. I
stood on a cliff waiting, and the pod
appeared in 15 min. After swimming
with the dolphins, I said to my mum,
“that was nice, but they’re not my
             pod.”(They were Hawaiian Spinner
dolphins, my mum swam with Bottle
Nose dolphins.) So I settled for the next
             best thing, ‘land-dolphins’ (horses)! I
discovered that I had psychic abilities
at a very young age, so it worked out
perfectly that I ended up in Sedona.
Though I am a professional tattoo
artist and have a land-dolphin of my
own, I have been obsessed with being
a mermaid from as far back as I can
             remember!
