Guildhall School launches Guildhall Live Events

        4:01, 21st November 2019
Guildhall School of Music & Drama has launched a new department, Guildhall Live Events,

specialising in creating interactive digital experiences for external clients.

The new department aims to support students’ education in real world contexts and deliver
professional quality projects for commercial and cultural clients, acting as a conduit between the

professional artistic, creative and entertainment industries and the school’s educational practices.

‘Guildhall School has been presenting ground-breaking work in this area for some time now, led
by [director and designer] Dan Shorten and his highly talented team, so I am delighted that

Guildhall Live Events is now fully established,’ comments Sean Gregory, director of Innovation and

Engagement at Guildhall School and Barbican. ‘Collaboration and innovation sits at the heart of
this partnership between a conservatoire and industry where students and staff produce high level,

professional work for hundreds and thousands of people to enjoy.’

Drawing on expertise from Guildhall’s production arts, drama and music production departments,
the team’s wide-ranging services include visual design and production, virtual reality, music and

sound design, audio production and delivery systems, immersive exhibitions and installations and

        equipment rental/projection hire.
