Bocelli join Queen Anne

naming celebrations in

Liverpool

The celebrations included a live performance by Andrea Bocelli, a

DJ set by Craig Charles and surprise appearance from Mel C.

Cunard’s £479 million Queen Anne liner arrived in Liverpool on Monday

and the city held a day of celebrations in her honour, with the Pier Head

transformed into a festival site.

Reminiscent of the Eurovision Village last year, a range of food stalls, deck

chairs and fan areas were set up, including a huge performance stage where
Emma and Matt Willis hosted the event.

Though the official naming ceremony did not begin until 4.00pm, crowds

could be seen at the Pier Head just after lunchtime, visiting the kiosks or
securing a good spot near the main stage.
