The first major exhibition in 20 years of this magnificently original British artist comes
to Pallant House Gallery, Chichester, from 13 May to 8 October. The focus is on John’s
career as an independent woman living between London and Paris at the turn of the
20thcentury, moving among like-minded contemporaries, including Rilke, Rodin and
Paul Modersohn-Becker. Featuring more than 200 paintings and drawings, including
the great self-portraits, this will be unmissable. LC
