On Christmas Eve there will be a screening of the enduring classic It’s a Wonderful
Life. The timeless magic of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial on Friday 30 December will be
accompanied live on stage by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
There are plenty of other Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Christmas treats in
store for audiences this year. 1950s New York is the location on Saturday 10
December for a Swingin’ Christmas – two concerts of Big Band seasonal favourites,
starring phenomenal vocalists, Kerry Ellis and Matt Ford.
Then, Santa Claus himself is throwing a party at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
Liverpool Philharmonic Children’s Choirs will join the Orchestra for Singalong with
Santa , the magical family concerts on Saturday 17 December and Sunday 18
December.
The much-loved annual Spirit of Christmas concerts, featuring the Royal Liverpool
Philharmonic Choir and Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir, will be presented by
new host Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason. They’ll feature something for everyone –
Christmas carols, audience singalongs, and Liverpool Philharmonic’s Artist in
Residence, the sensational trumpeter Pacho Flores, will join the celebration.
New Year’s Eve promises to be a real hit, as 2023 is welcomed in style with an
evening of Motown Classics. Finally, beat the January blues with the annual
performance of Handel’s rousing Messiah on Saturday 7 January.
