Christmas nears, The Sixteen brings its 2019 Christmas tour to
Cadogan Hall, performing a festive programme featuring Britten’s A
Ceremony of Carols. Under Harry Christophers, the choir will perform
on 16 and 17 December.
The winning entry of the David Willcocks Carol Competition will be
performed by The Bach Choir on 18 December, alongside a repertoire
of carols spanning the ages. London City Brass joins the choir under
the direction of David Hill. On 22 December, Hugh Bonneville will be
joined by The London Concert Brass and The London Philharmonic
Choir for an evening of Victorian Carols and readings from Charles
Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.
Ringing in the new year is Twickenham Choral, with its performance
of Honeggar’s Christmas Cantata and Poulenc’s Gloria and Stabat
Mater on 4 January 2020.
