City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra
Celebrating 100 years since its first concert, the full orchestra is performing in a warehouse,
where they can socially distance, in a concert that will be streamed without a live audience.
Simon Rattle, the CBSO’s former music director, takes over from the pregnant Mirga Grazinyte-
Tyla for a programme that includes Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, Saint-Saëns’s Cello Concerto
No 1 and AR Rahman’s Slumdog Millionaire Suite, featuring Roopa Panesar on sitar. Tonight at
7pm, on the CBSO’s Facebook and YouTube pages
